In the 1993 movie "the sandlot" why did Babe Ruth want to keep the Henry Aaron baseball card?

in the sandlot when benny dreamed about babe ruth talking to him, Babe Ruth picked up his Henry Aaron card and said "I dont know why, but can i have this kid?" does anybody know why he would want it?
