What's worse a big birthmark or a surgical scar?

I have a big black hairy birthmark on the back of my leg and I am brown. It is so gross I refuse to wear shorts. So what is worse the big black hairy birthmark on my leg or a surgical scar from the operation I want to take the birthmark off
